- What you earn before taxes and deductions — not what lands in your account.

Frequently asked questions
- What is a debt-to-income ratio?
- It is your total monthly debt payments divided by your gross monthly income, shown as a percentage. Earning $5,000 a month and paying $2,000 toward debt gives a ratio of 40%.
- Which debts should I include?
- Recurring obligations a lender would see in your file: housing, auto, credit card minimums, student loans, personal loans, and similar. Groceries, utilities, and subscriptions are living costs, not debt.
- Is a 43% ratio good or bad?
- Neither, on its own. The ranges shown here are educational reference points. Every lender sets its own thresholds and considers your full profile, not one number.
- Does a low ratio mean I will be approved?
- No. This calculator cannot and does not predict approval. Saccone Legacy is a consulting and education company, not a lender.
- Are my numbers stored?
- No. Everything is calculated in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to us.
